KALAMAZOO, Mich. - January 16, 2013 - One night after taking down North Division leading Cincinnati, the Elmira Jackals continue their short trek through the North by visiting the Kalamazoo Wings tonight. It's Elmira's first stop here in over a year.

The Jackals are facing the Wings tonight for the first of four meetings this season and first, and only, contest at Wings Stadium. The Jackals are 2-3-1 in their history in Kalamazoo, 5-8-4 all time, and won their last trip here by a 4-3 score thanks to Louie Caporusso's four-point night (3G, 1A). Kalamazoo is 10-9-0 at home this season and is averaging just over three goals per game. The Jackals, meanwhile, are 7-9-2 on the road but have won four of their last six away from First Arena. Kalamazoo is 0-1-0 against the Atlantic Division the season with a 4-1 loss to Reading on January 9. Kalamazoo is the fourth North Division team Elmira has faced.
Tonight goalies Joel Martin and Maxime Clermont will square off at opposite ends of the ice against their former clubs. Martin is making his second start against Elmira since setting club records for appearances (49), minutes (2,795), wins (27) and shutouts (2) in 2007-08. He stopped 31 in a 5-3 win for Augusta over Elmira on 10/25/08. He has started 21 straight for the Wings. Clermont, meanwhile, was 13-10-3 last season for Kalamazoo as a rookie. He compiled a 6-5-2 record at Wings Stadium.
