(Pawtucket, RI) - Sam Travis' three-run home run keyed a four-run third inning and Roenis Elias put forth a second straight dominant start, leading the Pawtucket Red Sox to their fourth consecutive victory at McCoy Stadium, a 6-2 win over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Wednesday night.

Elias (2-3) fanned eight and allowed only three hits in 7.1 innings of one-run ball, giving the lefthander 21 strikeouts and two wins in his last two outings.

"His mound presence has improved these past two outings," said manager Kevin Boles. "He has more confidence in his fastball and his arm slot has been consistent."

With the summer weather finally arriving in Rhode Island, Pawtucket's bats also heated up in the third inning against Lehigh Valley starter David Buchanan (2-3).

With two on and two outs in a scoreless game, Travis blasted a pitch on to the back of the berm in left center field for his sixth home run of the season.

"[Buchanan] was keeping me off-balance but I was able to get a good pitch and put a good swing on it," said Travis.

Travis has three extra-base hits and six RBI in his last four games.

The PawSox (23-23) continued their two-out rally with back-to-back doubles from Chris Marrero and Bryce Brentz that extended the lead to 4-0.

Marrero is 16-for-35 (.457) against the IronPigs (24-21) this season.

In the fourth inning, Jantzen Witte reached on a one-out error by Lehigh Valley third baseman Taylor Featherston. Deven Marrero followed with a single to left field, advancing Witte to third. The next batter, Mike Miller, hit a groundball to shortstop. JP Crawford was only able to record the force out at second base due to a bobble, which allowed Witte to score the fifth run of the night for Pawtucket.

The PawSox scored for the third straight frame thanks to Bryce Brentz's fifth-inning double that drove home Travis.

Elias set down the IronPigs in order in three of his first four innings and retired six of the final seven batters he faced.

"He attacked the zone and did a terrific job," said Boles.

Elias' only blemish came in the fifth when Cam Perkins stroked a ball into Pawtucket's bullpen in left for his third home run of the season.

Kyle Martin allowed one run in 1.2 innings to seal the victory.

The PawSox will look to sweep their three-game series with Lehigh Valley tomorrow at 11:05 a.m. Pawtucket lefthander Henry Owens (3-1, 2.57) is scheduled to make the start against IronPigs righty Jake Thompson (2-4, 3.33). Radio coverage begins on WHJJ (920 AM) and throughout the PawSox radio network at 10:35 a.m.

Good seats for the remainder of the homestand against Lehigh Valley and Indianapolis are still available at the McCoy Stadium box office, by calling (401) 724-7300 or by visiting pawsox.com.
