The El Paso Chihuahuas came back from an early deficit and beat the Tacoma Rainiers 4-3 Tuesday in Game 1 of an eight-game homestand.

Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Jabari Blash hustled to third base for a triple on a high fly ball that landed between two Tacoma outfielders. Blash then scored on Jamie Romak's RBI double. Rafael Ortega tied the game with an RBI single in the fifth and later scored on a wild pitch to put El Paso ahead 3-2.

After Gordon Beckham's solo home run in the sixth inning tied the game for Tacoma, Romak hit a home run onto the Peter Piper Pizza Porch in the bottom of the seventh to put El Paso ahead to stay.

Relievers Carter Capps, Logan Bawcom and Phil Maton pitched late scoreless innings for El Paso to seal the win. Ortega stole three bases for El Paso, one shy of a team record.

Team Records: Tacoma (7-5), El Paso (6-7)
