Edmonton Reassigns G Niklas Lundstrom to Norfolk from Bakersfield

NORFOLK, Va. - Head Coach Eric Veilleux and the Norfolk Admirals announced today that goalie Niklas Lundstrom has been reassigned by Edmonton to Norfolk from Bakersfield (AHL).

Lundstrom, 23, has appeared in 21 professional games this season, playing four games with the Chicago Wolves, the AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues. Subsequently acquired by Edmonton via trade with the St. Louis Blues in late February, the Värmdö, Sweden native appeared in four games with the Bakersfield Condors. The second-year pro appeared in 13 games with the Elmira Jackals this season, recording his first pro shutout against the Norfolk Admirals on Dec. 9, 2015.

Drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the 5th round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, he previously won Silver Medals in the 2011 U18 World Junior Championship (WJC) and 2013 U20 WJC Championship and was named the WJC U20 Top 3 Player on Team in 2013. The 6-foot-2, 187-pound netminder has appeared in 49 ECHL contests with the Alaska Aces and Elmira Jackals, recording a 25-19-2 record, 3.02 GAA, 0.906 SAV%, and one shutout.
