ECHL Announces Fines, Suspension

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Monday announced the following fines and suspension.

Reading's Labelle Fined

Reading's Olivier Labelle has been fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in ECHL Game #18, Reading at Trenton, on Oct. 17.

Labelle received a major penalty for spearing and game misconduct at 11:34 of the third period. He is fined under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.

Alaska's Gentile Fined, Suspended

Alaska's Brandon Gentile has been suspended two games and fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in ECHL Game #1, Utah at Alaska, on Oct. 15.

Gentile is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline for illegally contacting the head of an opponent.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.

Gentile missed Alaska's game against Utah on Oct. 16 and will miss Alaska's game against Idaho on Oct. 22.
