May 13, 2013 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Columbus Crew SC News Release

The Crew's loss to the Rapids dropped the Black & Gold to sixth-place in the Eastern Conference, while a slew of midweek games shuffled the table. Here is how the MLS Eastern Conference picture looks after 11 weeks of action.

1. New York Red Bulls - 21 pts. - Week 11: 2-1 Win vs. Montreal Impact, 1-1 Draw at New England Revolution

Thierry Henry's brace lifted the Red Bulls to a midweek victory at home against the Impact and Lloyd Sam scored to salvage a road point in New England. New York hosts the LA Galaxy on Sunday afternoon at Red Bull Arena.

2. Houston Dynamo - 20 pts. - Week 11: 4-0 Win at D.C. United, 1-0 Loss vs. Sporting Kansas City

Will Bruin scored twice and added two assists in a 4-0 dismantling of D.C. United on Wednesday at RFK Stadium to win MLS Player of the Week honors. In a return to BBVA Compass Stadium, the Dynamo saw its 36-match home-unbeaten streak come to an end in a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City. Houston will look to start a new streak on Saturday, welcoming the New England Revolution.

3. Sporting Kansas City - 20 pts. - Week 11: 1-0 Loss vs. Seattle Sounders, 1-0 Win at Houston Dynamo

Aurelien Collin atoned for a costly error that led to Djimi Traor's winner in the 94th minute of Sporting's Wednesday loss to Seattle by netting the difference in Sunday's road win in Houston. Kansas travels to the Nation's Capital for a Sunday with D.C. United in Week 12.

4. Montreal Impact - 20 pts. - Week 11: 2-1 Loss at New York Red Bulls, 3-2 Win vs. Real Salt Lake

The Impact rebounded from its midweek loss to the Red Bulls with an impressive 3-2 home victory over Real Salt Lake. Montreal will take a break from MLS play this week as it faces Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the Final of the Canadian Championship on Wednesday.

5. Philadelphia Union - 15 pts. - Week 11: 1-0 Win at Chicago Fire

Jack McInerney scored his seventh goal of the season to lift the Union into a playoff spot with a 1-0 road win against the Chicago Fire. Philadelphia has a full week ahead, facing the LA Galaxy on Wednesday before a re-match with the Fire on Saturday in a pair of home matches.

6. Columbus Crew - 12 pts. - Week 11: 2-0 Loss vs. Colorado Rapids

The Crew was dominant yet again, but couldn't find the net against a visiting Colorado Rapids side. Though the Rapids only mustered four shots against Columbus, the two attempts on target were enough to hand the Crew it's second-straight defeat. The Black & Gold will look to get back on track at Toronto FC on Saturday (5:00 P.M./FOX Sports Ohio).

7. New England Revolution - 10 pts. - Week 11: 1-1 Draw vs. New York Red Bulls

Homegrown forward Diego Fagundez hit the net as the Revs took a point at home against the New York Red Bulls. New England's stellar defense will be put to the test on Saturday as it travels to Houston.

8. Chicago Fire - 7 pts. - Week 11: 1-0 Loss vs. Philadelphia Union

It appeared the Fire was primed to secure a point at home, but Jack McInerney's 75th minute tally ultimately doomed the home side. The Men in Red travel to the City of Brotherly Love for a grudge match with the Union on Saturday at PPL Park.

9. Toronto FC - 7 pts. - Week 11: 2-1 Loss at San Jose Earthquakes

Despite owning the lead at halftime, the Reds' defense leaked to two second-half goals to suffer a midweek defeat in San Jose. Toronto FC returns home to kick off the 2013 Trillium Cup series against the Crew on Saturday.

10. D.C. United - 4 pts. - Week 11: 4-0 Loss vs. Houston Dynamo, 2-1 Loss at FC Dallas

United showed improvement from Wednesday's 4-0 defeat at home to the Houston Dynamo on the road against FC Dallas on Saturday, but it wasn't enough as D.C. suffered its seventh consecutive defeat. Things won't get any easier for the Black-and-Red as they host Sporting Kansas City on Sunday.
