Fans should be sure to come to the game early, as the first 1,000 fans through the Home Plate Gate will receive a specialty Emeralds Welcome Mat. This unique giveaway is presented by Valley River Inn and KVAL, and will make a great addition to any Emeralds fans' home.
Saturday's Kendall Community Spotlight is Ridgeline Montessori. This school's mission is to provide an academically rigorous Montessori education. Students balance their freedom to explore and think for themselves with their responsibility to work and learn within a community. The school will be holding a fundraiser during the game so come out and support this wonderful school.
The Emeralds are off to a hot start and look to continue this weekend, taking on the Spokane Indians in a five-game series. The team invites you to come to PK Park to share a fun and exciting summer with your family and friends. Jose Paulino (0-0) is getting the start after going five quality innings, giving up no runs and five hits on June 19. The bullpen has been a strong point this year for the Ems, going 26 innings and giving up just six earned runs.
The Eugene Emeralds are the short-season Class A team of the Chicago Cubs. In 2015, six of the top 30 Cubs prospects spent time in Eugene including Ian Happ, Donnie Dewees and Eloy Jimenez. With 61 years, the Emeralds are the longest tenured and only founding member remaining in the Northwest League.
