Earthquakes to Play Eintracht Frankfurt at Avaya Stadium on July 14

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes will take on Eintracht Frankfurt of the German Bundesliga at Avaya Stadium on Friday, July 14 at 7:15 p.m. It marks San Jose's first match against a German club since the team's first-ever international friendly on May 26, 1996 against Bayer Leverkusen.
Eintracht is currently in third place in the Bundesliga with a 10-5-5 record, trailing only Bayern Munich and Red Bull Leipzig.
"Eintracht Frankfurt is a terrific club to welcome to Avaya Stadium this summer," said Earthquakes President Dave Kaval. "We have previously hosted teams from England, Spain and Mexico, and are excited to give our fans an opportunity to see a top club from Germany."
Earthquakes season ticket holders should use their Bonus Game A tickets for the match. Season ticket holders can also purchase add-on tickets beginning Thursday, Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. by contacting their respective STH representative. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, Feb. 22 and are available at Ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000. Individual ticket prices start at $23, with special rates available for groups of 10 or more. Group tickets can be purchased by calling the Earthquakes Front Office at 408-556-7700.
Eintracht is based in the city of Frankfurt, Germany and was established in 1899. One of 16 teams selected as founding members of the Bundesliga in 1963, the club has won one German championship (1959), four DFB-Pokals (1973-74, 1974-75, 1980-81, 1987-88) and one UEFA Cup (1980).
San Jose owns a 10-9-8 all-time record in international exhibitions and the club has posted a 7-1-4 record in the past 12 exhibitions against international opponents, including a 2-1 win over Real Sociedad of Spain's La Liga in 2016.
