PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (July 27, 2017) - The Stone Crabs got six early runs and Travis Ott struck out nine Blue Jays hitters over five shutout innings in a 7-1 win Thursday night at Charlotte Sports Park.

Ott's (4-1) nine strikeouts were the most in a single game by a Stone Crabs (49-52, 18-15) pitcher all season. He allowed only one hit over his five frames to earn the win.

Up by a run in the second, David Olmedo-Barrera singled on a comebacker before Angel Moreno walked. After a double steal moved the runners to second and third, Lucius Fox pulled a single to left to plate both runners and extend the lead to 3-0. Fox then advanced to second on a groundout before Daniel Robertson lined a single to left center to score Fox and make the score 4-0.

Still leading by four in the bottom of the third, Boldt was hit by a pitch from Dunedin lefty Tayler Saucedo . With two outs, Olmedo-Barrera and Moreno both delivered RBI doubles to left to push the Stone Crabs' lead to 6-0.

Charlotte reliever Reece Karalus allowed one run on three hits over four innings to finish off the win, the Stone Crabs fifth in their last six games.

The Stone Crabs will go for their first home sweep of the season Friday night at 6:35 p.m. Brandon Lawson (3-3, 4.42) makes the start for Charlotte against John Straka (High-A debut) of the Blue Jays. Coverage begins at 6:20 p.m. on the Stone Crabs Baseball Network.
