Eagles Stay in Colorado, Sign Rookie Patrick Knowlton

WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles announced today the signing of rookie forward Patrick Knowlton, a native of Colorado Springs, Colo. The 5-foot-10-inch, 180-pound forward is coming off a collegiate career at Sacred Heart University, followed by nine games with the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators at the tail end of last season.
In four years collegiately -- the last of which he acted as team captain -- Knowlton recorded 82 points (24-58-82) and 146 penalty minutes in 131 games. Following the end of Sacred Heart's season last year, he began his professional career in the ECHL, registering an assist and 6 PIMs in nine games with the Gladiators.
The Eagles will begin their preseason camp on Friday, Sept. 30. They will then travel to Alaska for preseason games on Oct. 4 & 5 before playing their only preseason game at the Budweiser Events Center on Friday, Oct. 7 against the Las Vegas Wranglers.
The 2011-12 ECHL regular season begins on Friday, Oct. 14, with the Eagles' home-opener taking place on Friday, Oct. 21. A complete schedule can be found at www.ColoradoEagles.com.
