Cape Breton Eagles News Release

Sydney - The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles announced today the appointment of Phélix Martineau, Jordan Ty Fournier, and Pierre-Luc Dubois as the team's alternate captains for the 2016-17 season. The three forwards join team captain Olivier LeBlanc in wearing letters for the Screaming Eagles club in its 20th season in the QMJHL.

Martineau was selected by Cape Breton in the fifth round in the 2014 QMJHL entry draft. In his third year with the Screaming Eagles, the 19 year old is one of the longest serving players on the roster. Last season Martineau scored 20 goals and collected 23 assists over 43 games.

Fournier was acquired in a deal with the Victoriaville Tigres in the spring of 2015. A 19 year old winger, he is now in his second season in Cape Breton. Currently Fournier is tied with LeBlanc for the team lead in scoring with 13 points.

Dubois recently returned to Cape Breton after being drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets with the #3 pick in June's NHL draft. He was the highest player selected from the Canadian Hockey League. In 2015-16 Dubois collected 99 points as a 17 year old for the Screaming Eagles.

This weekend will mark the debut of the trio wearing the "A" on their sweaters. The Screaming Eagles take on the Baie-Comeau Drakkar at 7 PM on Saturday night and then battle the Chicoutimi Saguenéens on Sunday afternoon at 3 PM. Both games will be at Centre 200.
