Houston Dynamo FC News Release

HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo midfielder Christian Lucatero been recalled from Rio Grande Valley FC for Sunday's home game against the San Jose Earthquakes.

Lucatero, 19, has spent the season on loan with Rio Grande Valley FC, the Dynamo's hybrid USL affiliate. The Pasadena, Texas native has three assists in 15 appearances (two starts) with RGV FC this season. The midfielder played the final 19 minutes in Wednesday's Chipotle MLS Homegrown Game against the Mexico U-20 national team and appeared for the Dynamo against Real Sociedad in the BBVA Compass Dynamo Charities Cup on May 24.

"The RGV initiative has been excellent for us, because Wilmer (Cabrera)'s got a great team going down there," Dynamo interim head coach Wade Barrett said. "It's a good opportunity for us to have other players in the system that are still getting playing time and learning as professionals. He was part of the MLS Homegrown Game, which is a cool experience. By all accounts, Luca has done very well, and because of that we are going to have him involved in the group this weekend."

Lucatero signed with the Dynamo as a Homegrown Player last August after joining the Dynamo Academy in 2010 with the U-15s. He was named Dynamo Academy Player of the Year in 2013 and Players' Player of the Year in 2014. Lucatero was named USSDA Central Conference Player of the Year last July after scoring 26 goals in 27 games with the Dynamo Academy U-18s, tied for fifth in the nation.

The Dynamo face the San Jose Earthquakes at 8 p.m. CDT tomorrow at BBVA Compass Stadium. For tickets for every Dynamo game, visit www.HoustonDynamo.com or call 713-276-GOAL.
