DUPACO COWBELL CUP CHASE BEGINS OCTOBER 13

Fighting Saints look to capture the Cowbell Cup title for the first time since 2015

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Dubuque Fighting Saints, Waterloo Black Hawks and Cedar Rapids RoughRiders will begin play for the most fiercely contested hockey trophy in Iowa on October 13, the Dupaco Cowbell Cup. The 2017-2018 season marks the third season in which Dupaco has been the title sponsor of this rivalry trophy.

"The Cowbell Cup is a fan-favorite competition, and it brings an extra level of excitement to Fighting Saints games when we play our top rivals in Waterloo and Cedar Rapids," said Saints vice president Katie Kenne.

With offices located in Dubuque, Cedar Rapids, and Waterloo, Dupaco helps to improve the financial lives of its more than 100,000 member owners while making a positive difference in the communities it serves.

"Supporting community organizations and bringing value to our members are both important Dupaco initiatives," said Joe Hearn, President and CEO, Dupaco Community Credit Union. "We're excited to ring in the hockey season by partnering with the Dubuque, Cedar Rapids, and Waterloo teams of the USHL as the title sponsor of the Cowbell Cup series! This partnership allows us to help provide excellent family-friendly events as well as to share our cooperative message."

The Dupaco Cowbell Cup series will include 12 games for each of the three participating teams. The complete schedule is attached with this release.

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders will play eight games against the Fighting Saints, and the Waterloo Black Hawks will play the Fighting Saints seven times, so to even the playing field, the contests on December 1 and December 9 between the Fighting Saints and RoughRiders, as well as the game on October 14 between the Fighting Saints and Black Hawks, will not count towards the Dupaco Cowbell Cup standings.

During the 2016-2017 season, the Waterloo Black Hawks claimed the Dupaco Cowbell Cup, with the Fighting Saints coming in a close second place finish.
