Summary
Altoona's Jordan Luplow homered, and right-hander Austin Coley earned his first Double-A win, as the Curve defeated the Akron RubberDucks, 4-1, to complete a doubleheader sweep Sunday afternoon at Canal Park.
Turning Point
After Connor Joe reached on an error to open the second inning, Luplow cranked a two-run homer to right off Akron starter Matt Whitehouse (1-1). It was Luplow's fifth homer and gave the Curve a 2-0 lead.
Winging It
Whitehouse, making a spot-start in the nightcap, lasted three innings, and allowed three runs. Mitch Brown chipped in a pair of scoreless innings for Akron (11-16). After lefty Sean Keselica started and worked the first three innings for Altoona, Coley (1-1) came on and threw two scoreless innings to claim his first win at the Double-A level. Montana DuRapau closed the final two innings to post his sixth save for the first-place Curve (17-10).
