Ducks Reassign Sharp And Bickel To San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO (April 1, 2010) - The Anaheim Ducks today announced that the National Hockey League club has reassigned center MacGregor Sharp and defenseman Stu Bickel to the San Antonio Rampage from the Ducks' ECHL affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors.
Sharp, 24, has appeared in 38 American Hockey League (AHL) games with San Antonio this season, registering 17 points (8g, 9a). After a two-game stint this week with the Condors in which the forward collected two assists, Sharp has posted four goals and 12 assists in 17 games with Bakersfield this season.
A native of Red Deer, Alberta, Sharp tallied one goal and one assist in six games with the Iowa Chops (AHL) last season. Prior to joining the Chops, Sharp finished his senior year at the University of Minnesota - Duluth (UMD) with 50 points (26g, 24a) in 43 games during the 2008-09 season, tying him for fourth in the nation in scoring. Sharp also ranked second in the nation in goals (26), tied for fourth in game-winning goals (4), and tied for ninth in power-play goals (9).
Bickel, 23, has appeared in 36 games with the Rampage this season, posting four points (2g, 2a) and 38 penalty minutes. After registering one assist in two games with Bakersfield this week, Bickel has 13 points (1g, 12a), 50 penalty minutes and a plus-14 rating in 24 games with the Condors this season. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound blueliner played in 21 games with the Iowa Chops (AHL) during the 2008-09 season, tallying one assist and 51 penalty minutes.
A native of Chanhassen, Minnesota, Bickel attended the University of Minnesota during the 2007-08 season and recorded seven points (1g, 6a) in 45 career WCHA games as a freshman. Over the span of three seasons in the United States Hockey League (USHL), he posted 13 points (2g, 11a) and 260 penalty minutes in 84 career (USHL) games split between Green Bay (2004-06) and Sioux Falls (2006-07). During the 2005-06 season, Bickel appeared in 38 games with Southern Minnesota of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), totaling eight goals and 12 assists and tacking on 115 penalty minutes. The Rampage will host Kids Night, presented by Sea World, this Saturday when the Rampage take on Chicago Wolves at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center.
