Drillers Claim Series with Victory

TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa Drillers made the most of six hits and three Northwest Arkansas errors as they defeated the Naturals 8-2 on Monday afternoon to claim the four-game series.
The Naturals took a 1-0 lead on a two out single by Mitch Canham that scored Orlando Calixte. Today's game was the seventh out of their last eight games that the Naturals scored first.
A three-run home run by Kiel Roling gave the Drillers a 3-1 lead in the second inning. In seven games against the Naturals this season, Roling is batting .320 with three doubles, two home runs and eight RBI.
The Naturals cut the Tulsa lead to one in the fourth inning as Canham hit his first triple of the season with one out and scored on a Yem Prades single.
Tulsa took control of the ballgame in the fifth inning, scoring five runs off of Naturals' starter Sugar Ray Marimon. A pair of doubles by Joey Wong and Kent Matthes scored three runs, with Matthes scoring on an error and Kyle Parker crossing the plate on a sacrifice fly.
Canham went two-for-four with a single, triple and run scored. Calixte went one-for-four with a double, while Yem Prades went one-for-four with a single and RBI.
Marimon is charged with his third loss of the season after allowing eight runs, four earned, on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 4.2 innings. Jon Keck struck out one batter in 1.1 innings, while J.C. Sulbaran walked and struck out a better in two innings.
The Naturals begin an eight-game homestand tomorrow night against the Springfield Cardinals at 7 p.m.. Yordano Ventura (1-0, 2.95 ERA) gets the start for the Naturals. Ventura will be opposed by Boone Whiting (2-1, 3.22 ERA) in a pitching rematch of game two of last Wednesday's doubleheader. The Naturals won that game 10-3.
