Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Cedar Rapids Kernels (affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels) in the first game of a three-game set. Streaks: Dragons have won six of their last nine games.

Last Game: Dayton defeated Quad Cities 5-1 to win two-out-of-three in the series. Justice French earned the win to improve to 3-1 on the year, allowing the only run on a solo home run to David Medina. French gave up seven hits and one walk with six strikeouts in five and two-thirds innings. Ryan Kemp pitched out of a bases loaded situation in the sixth to preserve a two-run lead. Carlos Contreras worked the final two innings for his first save. The Dragons had eight hits. Robert Maddox and Jefry Sierra each had RBI singles. Ryan Wright was 2 for 4.

Today's Dragons Starting Pitcher: Radhames Quezada makes his fourth start of the season today. Quezada suffered the loss in his last start on Tuesday at Fort Wayne (4 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2 SO). All three runs against him in that game came on a three-run homer by Fort Wayne's Zach Kometani, snapping a streak of 12 straight scoreless innings for Quezada. He is a 21-year-old native of the Dominican Republic who is in his fifth year in the Reds organization. He signed with the Reds as a 17-year-old international free agent in 2007. Quezada played at Billings in 2011, going 2-3, 3.83 in 10 starts. His ERA would have ranked second in the league had he not finished a few innings short of the minimum number to qualify.

Manager/Coaches: Delino DeShields is in his second season with the Dragons and fourth year in the Reds organization. He served as the manager of the Billings Mustangs in the Pioneer League in 2010 and was the hitting coach in Billings in 2009. As a player, DeShields spent 13 years in the Major Leagues from 1990-2002 with the Expos, Dodgers, Orioles, Cardinals, and Cubs. He finished in the top three in the league in stolen bases six times and is 46th on the all-time career list with 463. DeShields hit .290 or higher five times. He was the 12th selection of the first round of the June draft in 1987 by Montreal. DeShields finished second in the National League Rookie of the Year voting in 1990...Pitching coach Tom Browning is in his first season with the Dragons and sixth year as a pitching coach in the Reds organization. Browning threw the only perfect game in Reds history on September 16, 1988. He won 20 games for the Reds in 1985 pitched in the 1991 All-Star Game. He was inducted into the Reds Hall-of-Fame in 2006...Hitting coach Alex Pelaez is in his second season with the Dragons and third year as a minor league coach with the Reds. He helped the Dragons to a club record team batting average in 2011 when the team led the league in runs scored. Pelaez played professionally for eight seasons from 1998-2005.
