Today's Game : The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Bowling Green Hot Rods (affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays) in the first game of a three-game series.

Last Game : Dayton defeated Lake County 7-2 in 11 innings to salvage a win in the three game series. Dayton pitchers combined to strike out 19 Lake County batters, one short of the club record, while walking only one.

Individual Notes

- Brent Peterson has three 3-hit games for the Dragons this season and is batting .440 (11 for 25). He would rank second in the league in batting average but he is seven plate appearances short of the required minimum.

- Jeff Gelalich has hit safely in six straight games (10 for 21, .476). This is the longest hitting streak of the year for a Dayton player.

- Drew Cisco leads the league in strikeouts, while Robert Stephenson ranks third and Ismael Guillon is fourth. Guillon and Stephenson rank first and second in the league in strikeouts per nine innings while Guillon leads the league in walks with 16.

- Drew Cisco is second in the league in fewest walks per nine innings (one walk in 19 innings).

Eight members of the Dragons are rated among the Reds top 30 prospects according to Baseball America: RHP Robert Stephenson (#2), OF Jesse Winker (#7), LHP Ismael Guillon (#9), OF Jeff Gelalich (#14), RHP Pedro Diaz (#17), 3B Seth Mejias-Brean (#19) and 3B Tanner Rahier (#20).

Team Notes

The Dragons have reached double figures in base hits in each of the last two games after going seven straight games with less than 10. The Dragons lead the league lead in stolen bases with 20. They stole nine bases in three games at Lake County. The Dragons rank fourth among the 16 Midwest League teams in Team Fielding. They have 14 errors in 13 games. The Dragons rank 16th in Team Batting (.200), Team Slugging Percentage (.283) and Team On-Base Percentage (.261). The Dragons rank 15th in Team Pitching (4.45). Dayton pitchers rank first in strikeouts with 13 more than any other team.

Transactions : First baseman Carlos Sanchez, catcher/first baseman Nick O'Shea, and pitcher Mo Wiley have been placed on the disabled list. Third baseman Tanner Rahier and pitchers Pedro Diaz and Ben Klimesh have been promoted to Dayton from extended spring training.
