Dorados announce 2007 af2 schedule

Hidalgo, Texas --- The Rio Grande Valley Dorados, in conjunction with arenafootball2, today announced the team's 2007 schedule.
The Dorados will play 11 of their 16 games against new Texas-based entries in the league. Joining Rio Grande Valley in the Southwest Division are Corpus Christi, Katy, and Laredo. Lubbock is the other new Texas entry and will play in the Central Division.
"The addition of these new Texas teams creates instant rivalries while also making our travel much, much easier," said Dorados General Manager Grant Buckborough.
The Dorados sit out the first week of af2 action, then open up the season on the road at Corpus Christi on April 7. They open the 2007 home half of the schedule vs. Laredo on April 14. Kick off is set for 7:30 p.m.
"I'm excited about this season's schedule," said Dorados Head Coach Marty Hammond. "The Divisional games we play will be magnified having to face Laredo, Texas and Corpus Christi a total of eight times. It will make for exciting games and an intense rivalry."
