'Dogs Lethargic as T-Bones Cruise in Rubber Game

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The Kansas City T-Bones (34-50) scored five times in the third, and cruised to a 8-1 rubber-game victory over the Saltdogs (46-39) in front of 3,991 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark Wednesday night.

Capitalizing on three walks, a wild pitch, and an error, the T-Bones tallied five runs - two earned - in the bottom of the third off Saltdogs starter Moises Melendez.

Dustin Loggins (6-5) pitched six innings, allowing just an unearned run on five hits while striking out seven and walking two to earn the win.

Melendez (3-4) lasted four innings, giving up seven runs - four earned - on five hits to suffer the loss.

The Saltdogs did not plate an earned run over the final 19 innings of the series.

Lincoln is off Thursday and opens a three-game series at Haymarket Park Friday night at 7:05 p.m. Radio coverage begins at 6:35 p.m. on KFOR 1240.
