'Dogs Come Back Thrice, Fall in 11

LINCOLN - The Texas AirHogs (6-6) homered four times, and plated four unearned runs in the top of the 11th to beat the Saltdogs (6-6) 10-6 in front of 2,278 fans at Haymarket Park Tuesday night.

Texas capitalized on a throwing error and a wild pitch with a three-run shot to left by Brian Bistagne in the 11th.

The Saltdogs overcame deficits of 2-0, 4-2 and 6-4 before succumbing in extra innings for the second straight night.

Tyler Ihrig (1-1) pitched three scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. Carlos Misell worked a hitless 11th to earn the save.

Jeff McKenzie (0-1) tossed three frames, allowing four unearned on three hits to suffer the loss.

Rene Leveret launched a solo home run to dead center field in sixth, his second of the season.

The clubs continue the four-game series Wednesday night at 6:35 p.m. Radio coverage begins at 6:05 p.m. on KFOR FM 103.3/1240 AM.
