May 25, 2016 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
El Paso Chihuahuas News Release

The El Paso Chihuahuas held Iowa to only one run for the second time in the last three games and beat the Cubs 9-1 Wednesday afternoon. El Paso has won two of the first three games on its current road trip.

James Loney began the top of the second inning with a contested single to center field, which was originally ruled a catch. Ryan Schimpf, the next batter, hit a two-run home run over the center field fence to give El Paso a 2-0 lead. It was the first time in the series the Chihuahuas scored the first run of a game.

Leading 2-1 in the fifth, the Chihuahuas brought in four runs on a sacrifice fly by Alex Dickerson, an RBI single by Loney and a two-run double by Schimpf. The rally was assisted by a two-out error by the I-Cubs, which led to three unearned runs.

Loney's three-run double in the ninth inning put the game out of reach. Dickerson went 2-for-4 with an RBI and extended his hitting streak to 23 games, which is tied for the longest hitting streak in Minor League Baseball this season.
