Detroit Waza Flo Wins Despite A Few Road Blocks
Not even a broken down bus could keep the Detroit WAZA FLO from turning it up in Harrisburg last night. The team was forced to rent cars just to make it to the game on time.
After a slow start, WAZA FLO went down 2-0 with goals scored by Kenneth Fultz. This fueled the team to get back in the game and Miki Djerisilo scored 2 unassisted goals in the first quarter, with Nik Djokic and Costea Decu tallying one goal each to end the first half.
The second half started with sharing goals. The Heat's Tyler Witmer scored shorthanded, but WAZA FLO had a quick answer from Detroit's Djokic. Fultz had one more for the Heat to make it 4-4 at the end of the third quarter.
Zachary Sell gave the Heat the go ahead goal at the start of the fourth, but WAZA FLO made it to the game, and they were not going to let it slip away. The team found an extra gear and scored three goals in the last six minutes, by Mirsad Halep, Zane Pollack and Victor Otieno, to put the game away. A very well deserved win after a frustrating home opener loss against the same team last week.
A special mention to the man of the match, Miki Djerisilo, with 2 goals and 3 assists.
"I was very proud of my team effort after experiencing some frustration with the bus breaking down. My team bounced back and responded to my requests. They were able to overcome adversity and win a challenging game on the road," stated head coach Dominic Scicluna.
Detroit WAZA FLO's next home game is November 30 vs. Cleveland at 7:05 p.m. The arena is located at 4300 S Dearborn St, Melvindale, MI.
