Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp News Release

MOBILE, Ala. - Anthony DeSclafani threw a career high seven innings and earned his second straight win as the Jacksonville Suns (6-2, 40-35) beat the Mobile BayBears (3-5, 42-35) 6-3 in game three of a five-game series at Hank Aaron Stadium.

DeSclafani (2-0), who made his Double-A debut earlier in the week at Bragan Field against the Huntsville Stars, only struck out two batters but did not walk any and allowed three runs over his seven frames. The right-hander also scattered eight hits in earning his first road win for Jacksonville.

The Suns gave their starter an early lead on J.T. Realmuto's two-run double off Andrew Chafin (4-5) in the top half of the first inning. Danny Black then drilled an RBI single off Chafin to give the Suns a 3-0 advantage.

DeSclafani held Mobile scoreless through his first three innings but finally relented in the fourth. Justin Greene lifted a sacrifice fly to plate Nick Ahmed and cut into Jacksonville's lead. Garrett Weber followed with a two-run home run to tie the game at three.

The stalemate didn't last long. The Suns immediately jumped back ahead when Chris Gutierrez scored on Chafin's wild pitch to take a 4-3 lead. Two innings later, Zack Cox struck another blow with a two-run double that extended Jacksonville's lead to 6-3.

Scott McGough and Arquimedes Caminero tossed two scoreless frames to lose out the Suns' sixth win of the second half of the season. Caminero earned his second save with a spotless bottom of the ninth inning.

No Suns finished with more than one hit but the team rapped out eight hits to earn its second straight victory at Hank Aaron Stadium.

The win gave the Suns a two games to one advantage in the five-game series and a chance to earn a series victory in game four on Thursday. Jacksonville will hand the ball to right-hander Jay Jackson (2-4, 2.73), while Mobile will counter with its own righty Archie Bradley (5-3, 2.29). First pitch is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. ET.

Suns fans can listen to Thursday's game on the Suns Baseball Network, 94.1 WSOS-FM or through jaxsuns.com, MiLB.com or the Suns iPhone or Android app, beginning at 7:50 p.m. ET with the UF Health Suns Pre-Game Show.
