SEVIERVILLE - The Chicago Cubs announced transaction that impacts their Double-A affiliate Tennessee Smokies roster prior to this evening's matchup against the Jacksonville Suns at Smokies Stadium.

Infielder Ryan Dent has been transferred from Tennessee to Triple-A Iowa. In 72 games with the Smokies this season, the 26-year-old has posted a .256 average (56-219), adding 32 runs, 11 doubles, four homers and 24 RBI, and had recorded hits in nine of his last ten at bats prior to the transaction.

Dent has participated in 18 games with the I-Cubs earlier in the 2015 campaign, combining for a .268 average (11-41) along with six runs, four doubles, one triple, one homer and six RBI. The California native prior to this season was signed by the Cubs as a minor league free agent after spending his first eight professional seasons with the Boston Red Sox organization. The infielder was originally selected by Boston in the first round of the 2007 MLB Draft out of Woodrow Wilson High School in California.

Tennessee's roster now stands at 24 players, along with five players on the Disabled List along with Cubs pitcher Neil Ramirez on his Major League Rehab Assignment, and a revised roster is attached.

The Smokies are set to complete their series and 2015 home slate against the Jacksonville Suns this evening, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Tennessee is anticipated to send LHP Jeffry Antigua to the hill, while Jacksonville is expected to give the nod to RHP Austin Brice.

The first 2,000 fans through the gates for Fan Appreciation Night tonight will receive a free hot dog, bag of chips and drink, while there will also be a pre-game autograph session with all of the players. In addition, all fans will leave Smokies Stadium with a special surprise courtesy of the Smokies and their partners.
