Dell, Americans Blank Mallards 4-0

ALLEN, Texas (December 31, 2012) - Rookie goaltender Aaron Dell made 26 saves on the way to his first career shutout while Brian McMillin scored once and added two assists as the host Allen Americans blanked the Quad City Mallards 4-0 Monday night.
McMillin scored the game's opening goal off a Jason Deitsch centering feed at 5:36 of the first period. Dell's strong play in the opening twenty minutes enabled the Americans to take a 1-0 lead into the intermission despite being outshot by the Mallards 10-4 in the first.
Jarret Lukin doubled the Allen lead by burying a rebound with just a minute and 39 seconds left in the second period.
The Americans put the game beyond the Mallards' reach with a pair of third period goals. Ryley Grantham stretched the gap to 3-0 from the side of the net at 11:07 of the third. Kip Brennan- who also had an assist- capped off the victory for Allen by scoring a power play goal from the slot with just over two minutes left in the game.
The Mallards return to action at home Wednesday evening at 7:05 p.m. against the Wichita Thunder. In anticipation of the culmination of the college football bowl season, the Mallards will offer $1 Nacho Bowls to all fans attending Wednesday night's tilt.
Tickets for Wednesday night's game- as well as seats for all remaining Mallards regular season home games- can be purchased in person at the i wireless Center ticket office, at Ticketmaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The ticket office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period.
The Mallards also now offer the Partial Punch Plan. The Punch Plan provides flexibility and affordability- each Punch Plan punch card can be redeemed for ten tickets- whether those tickets are for ten different games, all for the same game or anything in between- subject to availability.
