Defenseman New Assigned to 'Blades; Roe Loaned to Springfield of AHL

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced Wednesday that defenseman Daniel New (pictured above left) has been reassigned to the team from the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League, while Everblades defenseman Logan Roe (pictured above right) has been loaned to Springfield (AHL).

New, 27, recorded a goal and an assist in his two appearances with the Everblades back on March 25 & 26. The 6-1, 195-pound blueliner has posted four assists in 18 appearances with Springfield this season. Last season, New recorded nine points (2g, 7a) in 33 games played with the Binghamton Senators (AHL). The White Plains, New York native has totaled 36 points (6g, 30a) in 117 career AHL games split between Springfield and Binghamton, while compiling 24 points (5g, 19a) in 45 career ECHL games with the Elmira Jackals and the Everblades. New spent his collegiate career at Providence College from 2008-2012 registering 39 career points.

Roe, 24, earns his first American Hockey League call-up having totaled 15 points (2g, 13a) with a plus-23 rating in 58 games played with the Everblades this season. Last season, the Fort Myers, Florida native logged seven assists and a plus-6 rating in 37 games during his senior season at Canisius College. The 6-4, 206-pound blueliner recorded 25 points (1g, 24a) during his four-year collegiate career with the Golden Griffins. Roe is a product of the Junior Everblades Association's youth hockey program.

The Everblades return to action on Thursday evening when they battle the Orlando Solar Bears at the Amway Center beginning at 7:00 p.m. Fans can catch the game broadcast on 770 AM or online.

The white jerseys the team wore this season will be auctioned off following the game.
