Stockton Thunder News Release
STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, announced in conjunction with the ECHL that Thunder defenseman Nathan Deck has been named a starter for the 2013 ECHL All-Star Game presented by University of Colorado Health, hosted by the Colorado Eagles.
Deck, 22, is currently skating in the AHL with the Oklahoma City Barons and was loaned to Oklahoma City on a professional tryout agreement on December 3. At the time of his call-up, he led all Thunder defensemen and was tied for fourth among ECHL blueliners with 17 points in 19 games this season.
His +8 rating was tied for second on the team and he has earned seven points on the power play.
The 5-foot-11 and 185 pound blueliner received the Thunder "Unsung Hero" award last season when he notched 26 points and a +10 rating (3rd on the Thunder) in 60 games during his rookie season.
Deck has collected four assists in 12 games with the Barons this season.
