Defense Sets Tone in 66ers Win

SIOUX FALLS, S.D., February 23, 2013 - The Tulsa 66ers completed a weekend sweep of the Sioux Falls Skyforce by posting a 94-72 win at Sioux Falls Arena on Saturday night. The Skyforce's 72 points are the least amount of points by a Tulsa opponent in franchise history.

Tulsa (18-15) held Sioux Falls (20-14) to 18 or less points in each of the final three quarters while recording 17 steals and seven blocked shots. The win marks Tulsa's third-straight game in which it held its opponent to 90 points or less.

Offensively, six Tulsa players scored in double digits behind Rasual Butler's 17 points. The 66ers are 13-2 this season when five or more players score over 10 points - a feat they've accomplished in the past three straight games.

Andy Rautins collected 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists alongside Hollis Thompson's 14 points, six rebounds and six assists.

Rodney Bartholomew scored 12 points with eight boards and Ron Anderson scored 11 points and eight rebounds. Chris Quinn added 11 points and seven assists.

The 66ers outrebounded the Skyforce 48-37 and distributed 23 assists. During its current three-game win streak, Tulsa has outrebounded its opponents by an average of 48.7-to-40.0.

Tulsa shot 48.1 percent (37-77) from the field, including 45.0 percent (9-20) from 3-point range.

The 66ers return home to the SpiritBank Event Center on Tuesday, Feb. 26 to take on the Iowa Energy in Tulsa's first home game since Feb. 2. For more information, visit Tulsa66ers.com.
