 Charlottetown Islanders

Defending Memorial Cup Champions Visit Charlottetown

September 27, 2018 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
Charlottetown Islanders News Release

The action doesn't stop for the Charlottetown Islanders. Following a decisive 4-0 victory over the Saint John Sea Dogs, the Isles are back in action at home tonight as they take on the defending Memorial Cup champs the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

The Titan are still looking for their first victory of the season, following two losses at home to the Moncton Wildcats and Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. Forward Logan Chisholm currently sits atop the team in points, with 3 assists in two games.

Bathurst will be receiving a major boost to their lineup, as defenseman Noah Dobson will make his return following his stint at the New York Islanders training camp. Dobson, a Summerside, PEI native, was selected by the Islanders in the first round, 12th overall, at the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. He was recently named as the new team captain.

Not to be outdone, the Charlottetown Islanders will also be receiving a boost on the backend. Captain Pierre-Olivier Joseph will make his highly-anticipated return to the Charlottetown lineup, coming off of an extended stay at Arizona Coyotes training camp.

While the Islanders are gaining Joseph, they'll be losing defenseman Hunter Drew. Drew has been suspended for his hit to the head on Sea Dogs forward Nicholas Deakin-Poot during last night's game.

Don't forget that every Thursday night game at the Eastlink Centre is Student Night. If you have a student ID, join us for all the hockey action for only $3.
