Defender Mechack Jérî-me and Midfielder Kevan George Called Up For International Duty

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Armada FC has announced on Monday that Mechack Jérî-me has been called up to play for the Haitian national soccer team, and Kevan George has been called up to the Trinidad and Tobago national team.

Jérî-me, 26, has departed from the states to play in the Gold Cup Play Off for the Haitian national team and returns on March 30. The Haiti native will be playing in two games during his time with the Grenadiers. The two games will both be against Nicaragua, one on March 24 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and the other on March 28 in Managua, Nicaragua.

The defensive back has appeared in 62 games for the Haitian national team since his debut in 2008, recording three goals during that time. Jérî-me helped his country qualify for the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup, and also competed in the 2008 Caribbean Championship. He most recently played for the Haitian international team in 2016 when he competed in the 2017 Caribbean Cup qualification. During this time he scored a goal against French Guiana, bringing his international career goal total to three.

George, 27, leaves from Jacksonville and will return on March 29. Trinidad and Tobago is participating in the Group Stage of the CONCACAF Qualifying Competition for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. The team is scheduled to face Panama on March 24 and Mexico on March 28 at the Hasley Crawford Stadium in Trinidad.

The Armada FC vice-captain has appeared in 23 games for the Trinidad and Tobago national soccer team. George's most recent appearance for Trinidad and Tobago came in the fall of 2016 when he was called up to play in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Both players will return to the Armada FC in time for the season opener against FC Edmonton on April 2 at Hodges Stadium. The match on April 2 will be the debut of Hodges Stadium as the new home field of the Armada FC, and kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
