Dan Jancevski Reassigned to Hamilton

DALLAS, TX - Dallas Stars General Manager's Brett Hull and Les Jackson announced today that defenceman Dan Jancevski has been reassigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs from the Dallas Stars.

Jancevski, a 27-year-old native of Windsor, Ontario was recalled on Thursday by the Stars but did not play in any games with the club. He has played in 25 games with the Bulldogs this season recording 10 points (one goal, nine assists) along with 34 penalty minutes. In 2007-2008, he appeared in two games for Dallas and two games for the Tampa Bay Lightning earning two penalty minutes. He also spent last season playing for the Norfolk Admirals accumulating 20 points (four goals, 16 assists) and 52 penalty minutes in 37 games and the Iowa Stars, posting 10 points (three goals, seven assists) and 36 penalty minutes in 33 games.

The 6-foot-3, 212-pound blueliner won the 2007 Calder Cup with Hamilton. Jancevski led all Bulldogs defencemen and ranked second on the team in points with 14 (three goals, 11 assists) after playing in all 22 of the ‘Dogs playoff games during their Championship run. The Dallas Stars 2nd round, 66th overall selection in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft is also a two-time winner of the Tim Hortons Top Defenceman Award for the Hamilton Bulldogs, earning the honour in both the 2004-2005 and 2006-2007 seasons.

In three separate seasons with the Bulldogs (2004-2005, 2006-2007, 2008-2009), Jancevski had played in every regular season and post-season game but had his streak of 211 consecutive Bulldogs games come to an end after being recalled and missing Thursday night's 2-1 loss to Peoria. He has played in a total of 185 regular season games with Hamilton recording 67 points (18 goals, 49 assists) along with 284 penalty minutes. In 26 post-season games with the ‘Dogs he has earned 14 points (three goals, 11 assists) along with 18 penalty minutes.

The Hamilton Bulldogs battle their North Division archrival the Toronto Marlies at 4:00 p.m. today at Ricoh Coliseum.
