Dallas to Host 2004 NWBL Pro Cup

SAN DIEGO: The National Women's Basketball League (NWBL) announced today the 2004 NWBL PRO CUP would be held at The University of Texas at Dallas, in Dallas, TX on March 30, 31 and April 1.

The NWBL is America's professional women's basketball league that competes in the spring of each year across the United States. Teams competing will be the host team, the DALLAS FURY, and other NWBL teams the COLORADO CHILL; SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT; CHICAGO BLAZE, BIRMINGHAM POWER and the HOUSTON STEALTH.

The 2004 regular season will end on March 23rd, culminating the fourth NWBL season. Teams will be seeded for the NWBL PRO CUP, based on how they finish the regular season. NWBL standings to date are: COLORADO CHILL (12-6); HOUSTON STEALTH (11-6); DALLAS FURY (11-6); CHICAGO BLAZE (7-9); BIRMINGHAM POWER (6-10); and SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (4-14).

The NWBL teams feature some of the top professional players in the world such as the FURY's Sheryl Swoopes , Cheryl Ford and Anna DeForge; CHILL's Ruth Riley; STEALTH's, Tina Thompson and Cynthia Cooper; POWER's Alisa Burras; BLAZE's Tamika Catchings and the SPIRIT'S Rita Williams.

NWBL PRO CUP schedule is as follows and all games will be played at : The University of Texas at Dallas located at 2601 Floyd in Richardson, TX, 75080.

MARCH 30 - TUESDAY:
6:00 PM - SEED # 4 VS SEED # 5
7:45 PM - SEED # 3 VS SEED # 6

MARCH 31 - WEDNESDAY:
6:00 PM - SEED # 2 VS Winner of March 30th - 5:30 PM Game
7:45 PM - SEED # 1 VS Winner of March 30th - 7:30 PM Game

APRIL 1 - THURSDAY:
6:00 PM - Non-Winners of Games on March 31st to play
7:45 PM - 2004 NWBL PRO CUP CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Tickets will go on sale online on March 16th at the NWBL's website at: www.nwbl.com. Ticket prices range from $ 8 to $20/Game Day and there are 3-Day Package Tickets priced at $40. Tickets may also be bought at the door on game day, however seating is limited, so NWBL fans are encouraged to purchase their ticket early online at - www.nwbl.com.
