Dallas Sidekicks News Release

DALLAS (Feb. 7, 2013) - The Dallas Sidekicks (11-3) will host the Rockford Rampage (7-7) at the Allen Event Center this Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The team needs just one more win in their remaining two games to secure the Central Division title in their first year back on the pitch. The Sidekicks will also be retiring head coach and indoor soccer legend Tatu's number nine during halftime.

This is the second and last regular season meeting between the Sidekicks and Rockford. The first time the two teams met was January 5, where the Sidekicks claimed an 11-4 victory on the road.

The Sidekicks currently sit at the top of the Central Division, and are especially effective at home where they have won six consecutive matches. The team's defense remains the best in the league with a goals against average of just 3.7. The Sidekicks are led in scoring by Jamie Lovegrove (20 goals, 5 assists) and Franck Mbemba (18 goals, 7 assists). Goaltender Sagu (10-2) dominates the PASL with a goals against average of 3.45 and save percentage of .802.

Rockford, based out of Loves Park, IL, has a record of 7-7 so far this season and holds the fourth spot in the Central Division. Their leading scorer is Semir Mesanovic who leads the team with 24 points (19 goals, 5 assists). Goaltender Ante Cop (7-5) holds the #8 slot in the PASL with a goals against average of 5.58 and a save percentage of .730.

The Dallas Sidekicks will retire the jersey of former star player and current Head Coach Tatu during halftime. Tatu (Antonio Pecorari) is the face of the Dallas Sidekicks and the all-time leading goal scorer and assist leader in the history of indoor soccer. He spent 18 seasons as a Sidekicks forward (1984-2003) and still holds franchise records in goals (736), assists (672) and points (1,408). Tatu took over as head coach of the Sidekicks in 1998 and is the only person to win player of the year and coach of the year in the same season. Former Head Coach Gordon Jago and Tatu himself will speak during the ceremony. Several former Sidekicks players and a few surprise guests will be in attendance. The team will be giving out 1,000 replica Tatu jerseys to young fans at the door.

Dallas Sidekicks home games are broadcast on the Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and online (PPV) at AmericaOneSports.com.
