Allen, TX - The Dallas Sidekicks took an early lead and never relinquished it on Saturday night at Allen Event Center, defeating the long-time rivaled San Diego Sockers 9-7. In a match that at one point saw Dallas ahead 8-1, the Sidekicks survived a five-goal fourth quarter surge from San Diego to hold on to the win, the nine goals the most they've tallied so far in six games. Forwards Arthur Ivo and Cameron Brown impressed, Ivo scoring a hat trick and Brown netting two goals of his own. With the win, Dallas improves to 2-4 on the season.

The Sidekicks got a quick start in the first quarter, RJ Luevano connecting with Ivo to put Dallas on the board at 2:47. Six minutes later San Diego fired back, Eddie Velez with an impressive solo effort. At 13:13, Luevano and fellow midfielder Fernando Garza put together a sequence resulting in Luevano's third goal of the season to put the Sidekicks up 2-1 at the end of the first quarter.

The Sidekicks quickly went on the man-advantage in the second quarter, and at 4:01, forward Brown smoothly redirected a pass from Cody Ellis to score team's sixth powerplay goal of the season. Fellow forward VcMor Eligwe went on to tally two goals just 20 seconds, showing his skill and powering through San Diego's defense to put Dallas up 5-1 at halftime.

The Sidekicks added three more goals in the third quarter, Ray Aguayo with his first of the season and Brown and Ivo following up, each scoring their second of the match for an 8-1 Dallas lead.

San Diego deployed a sixth attacker for long stretches in the fourth quarter, reviving their offense and coming close to making a full comeback, beginning with goals from Anthony Medina, Matt Clare and Raymundo Reza. Dallas' Ivo completed his

first hat trick with a powerplay goal at 6:55. An altercation between players resulted in a bit of chaos on the field and despite the Sidekicks ending up on the powerplay, it was the Sockers who struck, Velez with his second of the game at 10:33. San Diego spent the remainder of the game playing their sixth attacker, which produced goals from Tovar and Nick Perera. Despite San Diego's five-goal onslaught in the final 15 minutes of the game, the Sidekicks had built up a large enough buffer to overcome and claim a 9-7 win.

The Sidekicks will remain at home for three straight games against the Southwest Division, firstly taking on the Brownsville Barracudas (2-3) next Saturday, Dec. 19 at 3:05 p.m. Sidekicks fans will be treated to Star Wars Night, plus free pictures with Santa. On Tuesday, Dec. 29 the team faces Saltillo Rancho Seco (2-3) at 7:35 p.m. Four days later, Brownsville makes their way back to Allen Event Center for a 7:05 p.m. matchup on Saturday, Jan. 2.
