Dallas Returns Antoine Roussel to Texas Stars

CEDAR PARK, TX - The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has returned center Antoine Roussel to Texas.

Roussel, 23, made his NHL debut on Feb. 1 against the Phoenix Coyotes, where he earned his first career NHL goal on his first shot. In five NHL appearances this season, Roussel has one goal, zero assists, and seven shots with six penalty minutes. The Roubaix, France native became the eighth French-born player to skate in an NHL game, and is one of five Dallas Stars since 2006 to score a goal in his first NHL contest. Prior to his recall, the 6-foot-0, 180-pound forward ranked seventh on the Texas Stars in scoring with 19 points (8G-11A), and led the team with 103 penalty minutes. Roussel went undrafted and as was signed by Dallas as a free agent on July 2, 2012.

The Dallas Stars are currently on a three-game winning streak as they travel to Western Canada for a three-game road swing, starting Tuesday, Feb. 11, against the Edmonton Oilers at 8:30 pm CT (TV: FOX Sports Southwest, Radio: 1310 The Ticket).

The Texas Stars are in Canada for a two-game weekend, beginning with a Saturday, February 9th showdown against the Hamilton Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. CST at Copps Coliseum. The Stars return home on Tuesday, February 12th, as they host the Houston Aeros for a 7:30 p.m. faceoff at Cedar Park Center. Pro-rated full and partial 2012-13 season seat packages are on sale now.
