Dale McFee Honoured with Officer of Order of Merit Award

Prince Albert SK- Prince Albert Raiders President and Prince Albert Police Chief, Dale McFee has been promoted to Officer in the Canadian Order of Merit. His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, presided over an Order of Merit of the Police Forces investiture ceremony this morning at 11:00 AM at Rideau Hall.

McFee has served as President of the Prince Albert Raiders since 2006 and has sat on the Raider board since the 2004-2005 season.

Prior to joining the police force, McFee played four seasons with the Raiders from 1982-1986 and won a Memorial Cup with the team in 1985.

The Order of Merit is the most recognized award in Policing with a limited number of members inducted each year. The Order was created in 2000, to recognize conspicuous merit and exceptional service by members and employees of the Canadian police forces whose contributions extend beyond protection of the community.

The Order has three levels of membership that reflect long-term outstanding service with varying degrees of responsibility. Commanders of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces (C.O.M.) are made at the national or international level. Officers of the Order Merit of the Police Forces (O.O.M.) are made at the regional or provincial level. Members of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces (M.O.M.) are made at the local or regional/provincial level.
