Bismarck, N.D. (Mar. 29, 2012) - The Dakota Wizards used a big second quarter to capture the lead and never looked back as they cruised past the visiting Texas Legends, 109-89. Stefhon Hannah continued his hot shooting scoring a game-high 27 points on 9 for 18 from the field and 5 for 10 from behind the arc. Hannah also grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out 7 assists on the night.
Texas used a hot start to put Dakota in an early hole, but Stefhon Hannah kept the Wizards close scoring 13 points in the first quarter to bring the Wizards within five points (27-32) after one. The Wizards took advantage of the Legends poor shooting in the second quarter. Dakota closed out the half on a 23-8 run and went to the locker room with a 59-50 lead.
The Wizards lead swelled up to 12 on an ally-oop dunk from Hannah to Edwin Ubiles and Dakota increased their lead to 19 on a Taylor Griffin 3-pointer. Dakota would find themselves in the driver seat heading into the final frame with an 85-71 lead. Texas didn't have an answer for Dakota in the fourth as they were held to just 28% shooting from the field and Dakota coasted to the 109-89 victory.
Chris Wright also recorded a double-double on the night finishing with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Edwin Ubiles tallied 21 points and 6 assists and Marcus Dove chipped in 18.
Alando Tucker scored a team-high 23 points in the loss and Anthony Vereen came off the bench to toss in 13.
With the win, Dakota improves to 26-20 on the season and still hold the 6th spot in the overall standings. Texas drops to 24-22 on the season.
