Tuesday, Los Angeles (91) @ Bakersfield (105) - Rabobank Arena

Bakersfield was led by All-Star Kevinn Pinkney's 26 points and 13 rebounds. The game was played with a great deal of energy as both teams struggled to keep control. Bakersfield outscored Los Angeles 37 - 18 in the final period en route to a 14 point victory. The D-Fenders were led by Sean Banks who posted 28 points. Andre Patterson added 14 points and 5 rebounds.

Wednesday, Arkansas (132) @ Los Angeles (136) 2OT - STAPLES Center

D-Fenders guard Brian Chase hit several crucial baskets down the stretch, including the final two free throws of the game to seal the victory. Chase hit all six of his shots, both of his three-point attempts, and all three of his free throws for 17 points in the second overtime alone. Chase finished the contest with a career-high 31 points on 11-22 shooting. He also sunk five shots from beyond the arc. Both teams shot a solid 49.5% from the field, but the D-Fenders outscored the RimRockers 19-15 in the final overtime to defeat Arkansas. Los Angeles guard Andre Emmett provided a spark off the bench for the D-Fenders with 30 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. D-Fenders forward Andre Patterson had his eighth double-double of the season with 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Fri, Arkansas (101) @ Los Angeles (111) - STAPLES Center

The D-Fenders outscored Arkansas in the first three quarters and went on a 10-0 run in the final quarter to put the game away. Los Angeles outrebounded the RimRockers 42-39 and capitalized on the offensive end by outscoring Arkansas 20-14 on second-chance points. Los Angeles was led by forward Sean Banks who had 24 points on 10-13 shooting. Guard Jackie Manuel added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the win. This was the final regular season meeting between the two teams, with the D-Fenders taking the series 3-0.

In The Standings

The D-Fenders are at 18-16 (.529) and holding steady in third place in the Western Conference. The Colorado 14ers are still in second place in the division at .600, two and a half games ahead of the D-Fenders. The Idaho Stampede still occupy first place at .676, five games ahead of the D-Fenders.

Coming Up

The D-Fenders have one game at home this week before traveling to Albuquerque. Los Angeles host their Southern California rival the Anaheim Arsenal at STAPLES Center, before the Lakers game, on Friday, March 2 with a 3:30pm tip off. This will be only the second meeting between the two teams, with the D-Fenders leading the series 1-0.

Having a Lakers ticket for a STAPLES Center home game is also your ticket to a lower level seat for the D-Fenders. Lakers season ticket holders who attend a D-Fenders home game will receive a special gift, while supplies last, by visiting the Season Ticket Holder Booth on the main concourse at the Figueroa Street Entrance.

On July 31, 2006 the Los Angeles Lakers announced that they had become the first NBA franchise in history to own an NBA Development League team. The Los Angeles D-Fenders play their home games at STAPLES Center pre and post Lakers home games. The Lakers devoted fans were given the opportunity to name the NBA D-League team in an online naming contest.
