D.C. United announce preseason schedule

Washington, D.C. (January 19, 2007) - D.C. United announced today the first half of the club's preseason schedule, as the club prepares for the upcoming CONCACAF Champions' Cup and the 2007 Major League Soccer season. The full team will report to RFK Stadium on Monday, January 29 and spend the week training in D.C. On Monday, February 5 the team will head to Bradenton, Florida for two weeks of training.
While in Bradenton, members of the first team will play a host of games. United will face Danish club Odense Boldklub (2/6), the Columbus Crew (2/11), the New York Red Bulls (2/14) and the Kansas City Wizards (2/18). In advance of the team's Champions' Cup match versus CD Olimpia, United will travel to Honduras on Monday, February 19. Following the February 21 match at Estadio Tiburcio Carias Andino, the Black-and-Red will return to D.C. for the return leg of its two-game series with CD Olimpia on Thursday, March 1. The rest of the team's preseason schedule is dependent upon the results against Olimpia.
United's MLS season kicks off on Saturday, April 7 when the team travels to Colorado to face the Rapids as they open their brand new stadium, Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The team will return to D.C. for a Saturday home-opener versus the Kansas City Wizards. Kick-off at RFK Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. on April 14.
