August 4, 2009 - Appalachian League (ApL) - Danville Braves
The Danville Braves made two roster moves today, adding RHP Edigson Mora from the Gulf Coast League Braves and promoting RHP Julio Teheran to Class-A Rome.
Mora, a native of Elias Pina, DR, was 2-0 with two saves in seven relief appearances in the GCL. He carried a miniscule 0.95 ERA, allowing just two runs on six hits and two walks in 19 innings. He struck out 17. The right-hander was the DSL Braves Pitcher of the Year in 2008, going 6-5 with a 1.76 ERA and two saves. Mora was singed as a non-drafted free agent on May 28, 2008. He will wear number 56 with Danville.
Teheran earned the promotion to Rome, going 2-1 with a 2.68 ERA in seven starts with Danville this season. He turned in four quality starts with the D-Braves. In his last outing on July 30, the Cartagena, Columbia native took a perfect game into the sixth and finished with eight innings of one-run ball, giving up two hits and one walk. He had a Braves season-high 11 strikeouts.
