Providence Bruins News Release

Providence, RI - The American Hockey League announced Thursday that Austin Czarnik has been named to the 2017-18 AHL Second All-Star Team, as voted by coaches, players and media in the 30 AHL member cities.

Czarnik has been nothing short of unstoppable this season with the P-Bruins, leading the team in all major scoring categories. The 25-year old forward has set career highs with 21 goals and 62 points so far this season and is third in the AHL in scoring. He also has 16 multipoint games on the season and leads Providence with 11 power play goals. Czarnik represented the team at the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic in Utica, New York January 28-29. He registered two goals and an assist during the All-Star Challenge.

In his third full season out of Miami University (Ohio), Czarnik is no stranger to AHL awards. In 2015-16, he was named to the CCM/AHL All-Rookie Team after leading all first-year AHL players in scoring. The 5-foot-9, 160-pound Detroit native also has four assists in 10 games with Boston in 2017-18. He has played in a total of 59 NHL games with the Bruins over the past two seasons, totaling 17 points. Czarnik was originally signed by the Bruins to an entry-level contract on April 1, 2015 after going undrafted.
