November 3, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Rookie Cam Reid lit the lamp with just 21 seconds gone in overtime to lift the Cincinnati Cyclones (6-0-2-0) to a 2-1 win over the Wheeling Nailers (3-4-1-1) in front of 5,072 at U.S. Bank Arena on Saturday night. The win extended Cincinnati's winning streak to three games.

After a scoreless first period, Cincinnati forward Jonathan Hazen finally broke the stalemate 14:50 into the middle frame with a breakaway goal. Wheeling turned the puck over at their blue line and Hazen was able to get a step on his defender and beat goaltender Patrick Killeen (OTL, 26 saves, 3-2-0-1) one on one with a wrist shot. The Cincinnati lead would be short lived, however, as a bouncing puck found Nailers forward Scott Zurevinski who was able to slip it past Brian Foster (W, 30 saves, 5-0-2-0), tying the game at 1-1. The score would remain knotted at a goal for each team heading to the second intermission.

The third period was similar to the first, where both teams found scoring chances but were unable to strike. So for the fourth time this season, Cincinnati decided its fate in overtime. Just 21 seconds in, Cam Reid won the face-off and sniped home his first professional game-winning goal, beating Killeen over the shoulder to give the Cyclones a 2-1 victory.

Cincinnati remains the only team in the ECHL to not have lost a game in regulation and owns the best winning percentage in the league (.875).
