Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
THIS PAST WEEK:
About Last Friday vs. Florida: The Everblades killed off a late-game power play and held on to beat the Cyclones by a 2-1 score in front of 3,547 at U.S. Bank Arena. It was the second game in a row that Florida was able to sneak past Cincinnati by a one-goal margin. Josh Shalla potted his 10th goal of the season in the defeat.
About Last Wednesday Night vs. Florida: The Cyclones comeback bid was denied in the finals seconds as the Everblades held on to win by a final score of 4-3 in front of a crowd of 2,345 at U.S. Bank Arena. Josh Birkholz, Mike Embach, and Mike Pelech all found the net for Cincinnati - who had its four-game home winning streak snapped.
SHOTS FROM THE POINT:
Lookin' For Early Christmas Gifts: The Cyclones will make their first trip into Fort Wayne since April 17, 1999 as they kick off a three-game week. After the Wednesday night affair against the Komets, the Cyclones will play host to the South Carolina Stingrays for back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday night at U.S. Bank Arena. Friday's game will be our "End of the World Party" followed by Cyclones Calendar Night on Saturday.
Buzz Killers: The Cyclones penalty kill unit has been especially strong of late. With another perfect week in that department against Florida, Cincinnati has now killed off 26 of the last 28 power plays against. Their 89.1 efficiency rate at U.S. Bank Arena ranks third among all 23 ECHL teams.
Captain's Passing In the Night: By week's end, current Cyclones Captain Mathieu Aubin will pass former Cyclones Captain Barret Ehgoetz for second on the club's all-time games played list. Aubin has skated in 248 games during his Cincinnati career. Ehgoetz finished with 250 games played.
Coors Light Jarrod Skalde Show TONIGHT: Join Head Coach Jarrod Skalde and Voice of the Cyclones Nick Brunker at Tap House Grill in Kenwood from 7-8pm as they chat about this past week of hockey and look ahead to the trio of games ahead. In addition, Cyclones forwards Mike Embach and Anthony Luciani will be on hand to sign autographs and take pictures!
