August 21, 2007 - New York-Penn League (NYPL) - Brooklyn Cyclones News Release

MEDIEVAL TIMES NIGHT: On August 23rd, see the knights of Medieval Times do battle on the field, as the Cyclones battle the Oneonta Tigers.

KeySpan Park will be transported back in time, as red and blue knights challenge each other for supremacy, and for the hand of the royal princess. The knights will square off between innings in tests of strength and will, entertaining all in attendance. And then, immediately following the end of the game, fans are invited to stay in their seats to watch a post-game joust, on horseback, in centerfield!

In addition, the first 2,500 fans will receive a visor, courtesy of Pepsi.

Don't miss one of the most unique and thrilling promotions in all of minor league baseball this year!

BARK IN THE PARK: August 23rd is also "Bark in the Park" night, and fans are invited to bring their dogs to see the Cyclones! For only $12 dollars (one $6 seat for the human, and one for the dog) fans will be able to sit with their pooch in the KeySpan Park bleachers to watch the Cyclones take on the Oneonta Tigers.

In addition to traditional ballpark fare for the humans, the Cyclones will also have water bowls for the dogs set up adjacent to the bleachers.

Fans interested in purchasing tickets to "Bark in the Park" Night can contact the Cyclones Ticket office at 718-449-8497. Combo doggie tickets are NOT available online.

FRIDAY NIGHT FIREWORKS: On Friday, August 24th, the Cyclones will take on the Oneonta Tigers at 7pm. That night, fans are also invited to stay in their seats for the best views of the spectacular Coney Island fireworks shows!

TWO MILLION STRONG: The Cyclones set another attendance record on Monday, drawing the franchise's two millionth fan, faster than any team in Short-Season history. 2007 is the Cyclones' seventh season. By contrast, the last two NYPL team to hit the two million mark did so in their 12th seasons.

Brooklyn fan Kevin Walsh walked through the gates early on Monday, wearing a Cyclones jacket and a Mets hat. He received several Cyclones prizes, including a jersey, and the opportunity to throw out the game's ceremonial first pitch.

"It's a testament to the loyalty and passion of our fanbase," said Cyclones General Manager Steve Cohen. "The organization has had a special relationship with Brooklyn -- and Brooklyn fans -- since its inception, and we're proud to say that the relationship is growing, and getting stronger every year."

ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS, BASEBALL: On Saturday, September 1st, the Brooklyn Cyclones will hold a "Rock, Paper, Scissors" tournament for participants in the Tri-State area, with a grand prize at stake of two 2008 Cyclones' Season Tickets, and two round-trip JetBlue domestic airline tickets. The Rock, Paper, Scissors tourney will take place on the field at KeySpan Park, with four finalists advancing to the Cyclones' RPS Final Four, to be held during that night's game against the Staten Island Yankees.

The team will also be conducting a "Rock, Paper, Scissors" giveaway that night, with the first 1,000 fans in attendance receiving one of the three namesake items.

To register for the Cyclones' Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament, participants must contact Rebecca Schwartz at 718-449-8497 or rebecca@brooklyncyclones.com before August 24th.
