Cyclones Loan Matt Macdonald To Rockford

ELMIRA, New York - The Cincinnati Cyclones have loaned defenseman Matt Macdonald and to Rockford of the AHL The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.

Macdonald, 24, played in 29 games for the Cyclones this season and appeared in his 100th contest for Cincinnati last night. Matt has two goals and ten assists for twelve points. Macdonald ranks fourth in the ECHL in plus/minus at +16 and is second on the circuit among defensemen-+1 behind teammate Conrad Martin.

The loan of Macdonald marks the 15th different player (and 19th overall) for the Cyclones to have been loaned or recalled by an American Hockey League team. Players playing for Cincinnati in 2007-08 have appeared in 68 games in the AHL this season.

Cincinnati (22-6-2) is leading the North Division of the American Conference by one point over Elmira. The Cyclones play at Elmira tonight (7:35pm-www.cycloneshockey.com). Cincinnati has a six-game winning streak-its longest in five years--and tonight is the fifth game of a six game road trip that ends on New Year's Eve (5pm contest at Trenton-carried on 96 Rock). The club has only had a seven-game winning streak once before (1995-96 while the team was in Louisville).
