February 26, 2017 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
Kalamazoo, MI- The Cincinnati Cyclones (28-25-4-0) fell to the Kalamazoo Wings, 6-2, on Sunday afternoon. Forwards Brandon McNally and Dylan Nowakowski tallied the lone goals for the Cyclones.
After the Wings took a 1-0 lead 6:50 into the first on a goal from defenseman Charlie Vasaturo, Cincinnati responded with a power play goal a little under two minutes later when McNally threw the puck towards the net and it deflected off the skate of a Kalamazoo defenseman to tie the game, 1-1.
Not long after, Kalamazoo received a power play marker of their own from forward Tyler Biggs to regain the lead, 2-1, through 20 minutes.
In the second Kalamazoo turned up the offense, receiving a pair of goals from forward Tanner Sorenson and one from forward Cameron Darcy to take a 5-1 lead, 18:13 into the frame.
Cincinnati chipped away at that deficit and scored a minute later when a point shot from defenseman Jaynen Rissling was tipped in by Nowakowski to pull the Cyclones to within three, 5-2, after two periods.
Kalamazoo put it away 5:41 into the third on a goal from forward Dajon Mingo to seal the Wings' 6-2 victory. The Wings outshot Cincinnati, 34-23 on the afternoon, with goaltender Michael Houser stopping 28 in the loss. The Cyclones kick off a three-game homestand on Tuesday night against the Toledo Walleye. Face-off is scheduled for 7:35pm ET.
