Cutters Win on Walk-Off Single by Martinez

The Williamsport Crosscutters loaded the bases for Gustavo Martinez and he came through with the game winning three-run single in the bottom of the ninth to defeat the Mahoning Valley Scrappers 4-3 Saturday night.

The Crosscutters had the bases loaded for Martinez with one out. He laced a single to right field and RF Juan Romero misplayed the ball slowing 3 runs to score on the play.

The Cutters trailed throughout most of the game and scored their first run in the sixth. Logan Pierce hit an RBI single to right field to drive in the first run of the game.

Williamsport improves to 7-5 and is tied for first place with the Jamestown Jammers. The Cutters begin the next chapter of the Sawbuck Series as the State College Spikes visit Historic Bowman Field Monday. First pitch is at 7:05 P.M.
