SEVENTH HEAVEN: The Altoona Curve had their first winning month of the season in July. The Curve went 15-14 in the month of July and it is due in large part to the team's offensive success. PEDRO PROSPERS: Pirates No. 1 prospect Pedro Alvarez continues to impress as the 22-year old went 3-for-4 Friday. Alvarez has now raised his batting average from .143 to .302 in the month of July after slugging four home runs and hitting .352 in his first full month of Double-A action.

POWER FAILURE: On Friday, the Curve had eight hits, all of which were singles. The Curve have failed to hit a home run in each of their last six games dating back to 7/25 @ Akron. It is the second-longest homer-streak of the season. From 5/14 - 5/22 the Curve went eight games without a long ball.

BULL DURHAM: 1B Miles Durham is having a great offensive stretch hitting in the last 16 consecutive games he has started. He has raised his batting average from .273 to .314 since 7/12 and has had five multi hit games including a 2-for-4 effort Tuesday.
