READING, Pa. - The Altoona Curve matched the worst shutout loss in franchise history, falling 14-0 to the Reading Fightin Phils on Sunday night at FirstEnergy Stadium.

The Curve (62-51) had their second 14-0 loss of the season, matching the franchise-worst shutout record set on May 3 at Erie. It was also Altoona's worst loss in franchise history to Reading (76-38).

Altoona pitching combined to issue 12 walks, the most in a game this season and the second-most in franchise history.

Reading broke a scoreless tie in the fourth with an RBI groundout by Harold Martinez, before breaking things open with three runs in the fifth. Andrew Pullin clubbed an RBI single and Dylan Cozens brought in two runs with a single to put Reading ahead, 4-0.

Rhys Hoskins worked a bases-loaded walk, one of his five walks in the game in five trips, to stretch the Reading lead to 5-0 in the sixth. His five walks set a new modern-era franchise record for Reading.

The FIghtin Phils poured on six runs in the sixth, including a three-run homer by Andrew Pullin, to open the lead to 11-0.

Gabriel Lino hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth against Trey Haley, putting Reading ahead, 14-0.

Altoona starter Cody Dickson (Loss, 9-4) picked up his first loss since June 17 after allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits with five walks and six strikeouts.

Reading starter Nick Pivetta (Win, 11-6) walked four and allowed two hits with five strikeouts over his five innings.

After a day off on Monday, the Curve return home to face the Harrisburg Senators on Tuesday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field. Lefty Brandon Waddell (7-6, 4.09) will be on the mound for Altoona, countered by Harrisburg right-hander Phillips Valdez (4-2, 5.05). First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The gates at PNG Field open at 6 p.m. and it will be Two-for-Tuesday, presented by Atlantic Broadband, and fans can take advantage of buy one, get one free specials on tickets, hot dogs and small popcorn. There will also be a spectacular postgame fireworks show, presented by Hometown Markets of Bellwood, Hollidaysburg and Phillipsburg.
